Four-Footed Fun: Dog Parks in San Diego and Other Activities

San Diego Dog Adventures

You’ve probably guessed this already if you’ve seen enough San Diego photos, but in this town, dog-friendly is embedded in our DNA. Home to countless parks, paths, and places to run free, our very own Mission Bay hotel is also a haven for fuzzy family members. In honor of the Year of the Dog, let’s hear it for discovering the best places to travel in San Diego with your beloved companions.

The Original Dog Beach

As the name implies, this is an unrivaled doggie destination. A free-admission, off-leash destination on the north end of Ocean Beach, you’ll be delighted to find a beautiful stretch of shoreline, plus dog washing facilities so you can head back to the hotel without worrying about a mess.

Fiesta Island

It’s always a party here: with dogs allowed into all nonfenced areas, this SeaWorld-adjacent park features sand dunes, bay views, and a constant stream of visitors. Fiesta Island opens early, so if you’re feeling an early-morning run with your pal, this is a great choice.

Little Italy

What’s better than letting your buddy stretch his or her legs before grabbing a delicious sidewalk meal? Amici Park welcomes dogs, and so do a number of the best restaurants in this district. If you’re planning a trip into Little Italy with your dog, enjoy a play session in the park before choosing from Patio Marketplace, Cow By Bear, Nonna + Zucchero, and a host of other restaurants, mainly on India and Columbia Streets. Depending on where you go, waiters will bring your dog water and even some special treats.

Hanging out and feeling right at home is always an option, too. Not only will you have your pick of spots like the Patio on Lamont right here in Pacific Beach, but with our dog-friendly San Diego hotel boasting tons of places for dogs to roam and romp, we can’t wait to meet you, and hope you’ll get to indulge with our signature complimentary treats, walking paths around the property, and, of course, plenty of new friends.

When the weather’s always this good, going for a walk is far from a chore. Learn about Dana for Dogs, and see why our hotel is the top place for pets on Mission Island.
